Investing in Forestry - Protect the Planet and Make Superb Returns
25/09/2008
Why is investing in forestry so important?
Forests used to be all about timber production. Now they are recognised as being important for biological diversity, maintenance of ecosystem services and the mitigation of climate change. That is what we mean by sustainable forest management. In April 2002, Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity committed themselves to achieve by 2010 a significant reduction of the current rate of biodiversity loss at the global, regional and national level as a contribution to poverty alleviation and to the benefit of all life on Earth. This target was subsequently endorsed by the World Summit on Sustainable Development and the United Nations General Assembly and was incorporated as a new target under the Millennium Development Goals, which is why by investing in forestry you can also play a part in maintaining the eco-system and saving the planet.
As our name suggests, we care about our planet. We Care about the Planet
We believe you do too!
Global Cooling is an essential and time sensitive process, urgently necessary for the restoration of balance to our environment - its reliance upon trees cannot be understated. Forests can offset climate change because trees absorb carbon dioxide, one of the main greenhouse gases. But, all round the world, forests are being cut back through indiscriminate logging, and new trees are desperately needed to replace them.
That's where this opportunity comes in...
Graham Stuart & Associates Ltd (GSA) is an independent marketing channel specializing in carefully structured Commercial Property and Land Investment projects that will appeal to private ethical investors who want to deal directly with the plantation company. These forestry investment projects are also allowable within the SBQ Property & Land SIPP (Self Invested Pension Plan) framework for investors wishing to use their pension money for this purpose. GSA is a member of The Institute of Business Consulting and is committed to ethical, sustainable, managed forestry investment projects. We work closely with Financial Advisors, Accountants, Solicitors and SIPP Companies, whose clients are looking for “alternative” investment opportunities in order to maximize their SIPP “pension pot”.
Our strategic forestry partners have appointed BDO Stoy Hayward as corporate advisers and auditors who have a specialist ethical team. The policy and mission shared with our Plantation Partners is to use their land in a sustainable and ecologically responsible way. By planting and harvesting trees through sustainable rotation it means we can plant and harvest the tree crops for literally hundreds of years to come, on the same sites!
Agarwood is the most expensive, reputable and rarest wood in the world
It is important in today’s changing world to continually look at other "Fresh" types of investment opportunities. Although many international investment funds have “Timber” as a big part of their investments, in the past it has been almost impossible for the private investor to invest in this product. Thankfully this has now changed.
The value lies in the distinctive fragrance that can be used in incense and perfumes. Many experts say that Agarwood is the cash crop of the future. This statement is reinforced by the making of a scientific break through for growing Agarwood.
That is where the opportunity is
Private buyers can now be involved by buying plots of forest, which will be leased to them for the time it takes the trees to mature. When the trees are harvested, clients take their profit.
"Land should be a fundamental component of any investor’s portfolio” – Warren Buffet (The 20th Century’s most successful investor)
Thus you can quite literally watch your money grow. This proven forestry method has the potential to produce outstanding financial gains for clients in harmony with nature.

Some 13 million hectares of the world's forests are lost due to deforestation each year. The annual net loss of forest area between 2000 and 2005 was 7.3 million hectares (equivalent to the net loss of almost 2% of the world's forests). We are growing trees to harvest for profit for ourselves, companies and individuals and believe that ethical profit can co-exist with environmental conscience, helping to create a better world for all of us and future generations.
The cultured hardwoods we grow and produce will help reduce the pressure on the world’s natural rainforests and at the same time carefully protecting thousands of acres of previously threatened tropical rainforests. Once all the trees have been harvested the fields are replanted with perpetual forestry, which means they will be protected forever.
Our plantation partners are working with governments and their agencies, developing new plantations in tropical countries such as Sri Lanka as well as in South America. When these trees are fully grown they will be harvested and sold. But - most importantly - they will then be replaced by new ones on the same land, so creating sustainable forests for generations to come.
Whether you are looking to purchase using your pension funds, through your company or as a private individual this ethical type of investment can help the planet AND produce financial benefits.
We would be pleased to send you further information or discuss this project with you in more detail.
