LIMITED STOCK OF THE UK'S ADDITIVE FREE HERBAL RANGE AVAILABLE

The Traditional Herbal Medicinal Products Directive, (THMPD) came into full force on April 30th 2011. A sad day indeed for the health of the nation, and the future of herbal medicine.

For many herbals to remain on the market, they require a THMPD registration.

For us, this would represent a £1.4 million pound investment simply to register the initially affected herbals on our range (for the UK only, not the rest of Europe!) and with more to follow.

These sorts of costs are only feasible for the very largest companies.  It is not surprising when we look at those products that have been registered, to note that most are made by large pharmaceutical owned, supplement companies.  No wonder then that the ingredients list of the registered products are of an unquestionably low quality packed with toxic additives, and in a less effective and less safe extract form.

We pride ourselves on the highest quality 100% pure, additive free, whole herbs.  Our range is GMP Certified, and certified organic.  But because of the implications of this Directive, we have sadly had to forego our marketing license for the organic certification, because the costs just aren’t justified when we have to lose a large number of our herbal supplements.

Each capsule contains 193 - 261mg of dry extract Milk Thistle, mannitol, cellulose microcrystalline, croscarmellose, sodium, silica colloidal anhydrous, magnesium stearate, gelatin, purified water, sodium lauryl sulphate, titanium dioxide (E171), red iron oxide (E172), yellow iron oxide hydrate, (E172) - absolutely disgraceful if you ask us.

We are allowed to sell through our existing stock, but demand has been high, and stocks are already running short.  We have already sold out of the wonderful Cat’s Claw and Milk Thistle.

Once stock has been depleted, most of these will no longer be available in an additive free, whole herb form in the UK.  Others will not be available in any form, a very sorry situation indeed.
