Christine had a long career as a biomedical scientist and then spent 7 years as a scientific grants assessor. Following this she was a senior NHS manager, overseeing research ethics committees, a position she left to pursue an interest in medical herbalism. She gained a First Class Honours degree in Herbal Medicine and in 2007 was awarded the Nutricentre prize for excellence in the subject. She has published papers in pathology and humane research issues in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
