Duration: 2 days, 10.00am – 5.30pm. Practical elements are covered over 2 days attendance at our centre. Theory elements are covered by homestudy.

Description: Reiki is simply energy but it is also a system in which we can apply this energy into daily life. Reiki is not a religion. It holds no doctrines, creeds or contradictions to the Universal Laws of Consciousness and Love. Once an individual is attuned to Reiki through attunements or initiations, they are permanently linked without the need of conscious alteration of the mind, either through meditation, prayer or imaging.

Simply placing one’s hands on oneself, or another person, allows the energy to flow through the individual. It fills the Reiki practitioner’s body first and then flows out through the practitioner’s hands into the recipient.

Reiki energy comes from the Universe or Source and is an extremely powerful healing energy. It is one of the few forms of healing that can be used to heal oneself. Reiki does not conflict with other health-care modalities, but enhances its results. It does not interfere with traditional medical treatment, but facilitates benefits. Reiki speeds the healing process and provides a source of restoring energy while one is ill, under medical treatment or in recovery.

Usui Shiki Reiki, also known as the traditional Western branch of Reiki as taught by Hawayo Takata and offers training in a Western format. In Western branches the word Reiki has been translated as ‘Universal Energy’. It may be the case that the kanji ‘rei’ was translated as ‘Universal’ because the term ‘spiritual’ was not the focus of the Western practice during the twentieth Century and it would have been more acceptable not to refer to it. The word Reiki is also used in the West to represent a healing system.

This 2 day Foundation Course is an ideal introduction to the subject, focusing on self development to promote health and well-being. You will be required to keep a journal of your experiences for 21 days following this course.

Prerequisites: None, simply an interest in Reiki.

Career progression: Students can progress onto our Traditional Western Reiki Level 2 Training.
