Horses First Club – Saucy Night first by 10 lengths
And what a horse he is, an amazing, incredible animal that I recommend you all come and see at some point either here or at the races. Here’s a few numbers:
In 7 starts before going barefoot & being kept naturally he never passed another horse in a race – he was either last or didn’t finish
In 8 runs over steeple chase fences since coming to the farm his record is: 3 - wins, 3 - 2nds, 2 - 3rds, 0 – unplaced
Yep that is a zero for unplaced and he’s won 25 times his purchase price and counting! He is now 10 years old and still as keen as ever. At Uttoxeter he just jumped every other horse out of the race – it was something to see. He romped home by 10 lengths and - those of you that follow racing will understand how amazing this is - at 10 years old he’s run a lifetime's best (a full 71 lengths better than his first run over fences).
Some of you may have read the press coverage about the fact the Horses First Club, which Saucy is a founder member of, does not allow any violence against its horses and as such no use of whip is permitted. The winning jockey was Richard Johnson and he had no problem with the instructions, he could not have been better prepared and gave the horse a magnificent ride. He jumped off afterwards and said “what a pleasure that was”. Saucy was walking around the winners' enclosure as happy as could be without a bother on him. He will run again shortly
There are some big races for him next week - and you can all come along and cheer him on; you can sign up for a FREE trial membership (see below). The club has 5 horses so far, including Saucy. For just £10 a month members can come racing free, decide on distribution of prize money, have access to daily training reports on the website, come to special events and yard visits, share information and feedback with other club members, and have exclusive access to /color>latest information on barefoot, supplements, equipment, training techniques, etc./fontfamily> Full details are on our website: http://www.horsesfirstclub.com/
