We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Penlan Farm Range of complete moist food for adult dogs.
In response to the common problems he saw in his surgery, John Burns originally recommended that his clients home-cooked for their pets. Although his recipes were very beneficial he understood that home-cooking could be time-consuming and inconvenient. He was determined to make high quality nutrition more accessible, so he developed his range of complete dry foods.
Now John Burns’ original home-cooked recipes are available as complete moist food in a convenient pouch.
Burns Penlan Farm Range - Available in three varieties:
Egg, Brown Rice & Vegetables (400g)
Chicken, Brown Rice & Vegetables (400g
Lamb, Brown Rice & Vegetables (400g)
Available from your Local Stockist and our Online Shop from March 2010
Made With Ethically and Locally Sourced Ingredients
Seasonal vegetables grown on our own farm in Kidwelly.
Although our vegetables are not organic our farm uses organic techniques and is managed with an emphasis on conservation and environmental care. Our vegetables taste so good we regularly have them for lunch in our company canteen!
Free range eggs from our own flocks of free range chickens.
We keep our hens in small flocks and allow them access to pasture to reduce stress and encourage natural behaviour. As we use some of the eggs in the canteen, we can personally vouch for how delicious they are!
Organic chicken meat from Pembrokeshire.
The chicken meat for the Penlan Farm Range comes from free-range hens and not from caged or barn-kept birds. Animal welfare is very important to the company and we are determined to only use the most ethical sources for our new range.
Lamb hearts from Welsh sheep.
A highly nutritious source of protein and minerals which we buy locally whenever possible.
Organic Brown Rice from Italy.
Unfortunately, as the climate in the UK is too cold to grow rice, it has been sourced from the nearest available producer and shipped in bulk to further reduce its carbon footprint.
Egg variety
Egg is both a novel protein source and hypoallergenic so it should be good for dogs that are prone to allergies or have food intolerances. It provides an option for owners who want to feed a vegetarian diet to their dogs but do not want to use a soya based food. Egg has binding properties so this variety may be particularly suitable for dogs prone to loose stools.
A complete dog food
The Penlan range is a complete food for adult dogs over 6 months old and seniors. It can however, also be fed alongside the Burns dry food.
Can be fed to puppies under 6 months old
The new Penlan Farm moist food can be fed to puppies but it must be fed alongside one of our dry puppy diets to ensure the puppy is getting enough nutrients. Please ring our free nutritional helpline for further advice: 0800 083 66 96.
Made in our own factory.
To ensure that the Penlan Farm range is made exactly the way we want, we have converted two local industrial units to create our own factory.
Stored in our own warehouse.
By sourcing ingredients, manufacturing and storing this range locally, we also helped minimise its carbon footprint by reducing the need for transport
Keep it in the fridge
Once it has been opened, a pouch can be kept in the fridge for around three days.
Can be frozen
The food should be taken out of the pouch, split into single meal portions and put into separate containers before freezing. The food should then be allowed to reach room temperature before feeding.
Don't forget we have a team of Nutritional Advisors here with a wealth of knowledge and experience. If you have any questions relating to your pets' nutritional needs then please do not hesitate to call us.
