Following their move to a new premises last year, the future is looking very bright for 3* Parelli Instructors Alison Jones and David Zuend. For the first time Alison and David have a yard and home together in the UK. The Horse Place as it is now known is near Hartland in Devon and is set in some of the most beautiful countryside Devon has to offer.

Between them they have five horses, Orange, Yellow and Boris belonging to Alison and Whitey and Grey owned by David. These horses have a wide range of ages and experience from Boris and Grey at just four and five to Orange who has just turned twenty.

Orange is Alison’s demo horse and along with Yellow competes in affiliated dressage, qualifying this year for the regional championships. Boris is just Boris. Definitely a competition horse for the future but newly started this year he is happy to be the joker of the yard.
David does not compete with his horses preferring to turn their talents to more down to earth practices. Both have featured in demos and Grey has helped to drag the logs up from the field this winter to keep the wood burner going. Whitey was regularly driven in Switzerland and now she is here in England, it will probably not be long before Alison and David are visiting the local hostelry by horse and carriage.
2011 will be the first full year at The Horse Place and it promises to be a busy one. David has already started several young horses and they have both had a few more for foundation training. There are twelve 2 or 3 day clinics arranged throughout the summer with full board accommodation available on site. Many students have already taken the opportunity to stay for a few days for private lessons, and enjoy watching David and Alison play with their own horses in the informal atmosphere of the yard. And since last summer four working students have worked with Alison and David, each for a three month period. Their current student being Odette Insoll from Cornwall, whose dream is to follow in their footsteps and become a Parelli Professional.
Alison and David are holding an Open Day at The Horse Place on Sunday 19th June and have several demonstrations planned throughout the summer, at venues around the South West, to promote the advantages of Parelli Natural Horsemanship. 2011 is also shaping up to be a pivotal year for Parelli students. With more and more newly qualified junior instructors coming up through the ranks, everyone will have more access to a Licensed Parelli Professional than ever before.

The Parelli Celebration held at the NEC in April proved a great success for The Horse Place, having both Grey and Orange playing vital roles in the arena. Pat Parelli played with Grey in the extrovert session and both horses were in the grand opening. Orange was in the Savvy team with Alison the pivotal point being jumping the single upright barrel at liberty. Orange was the star once again when he came out with Ashley, a 12 year old girl who enjoyed playing with him in front of the crowd.
