April Showers !?!? Well now it is May and here in Devon the sun is shining so what better time to plan your summer Parelli fun and education.
Below are details of Alison and David's clinics, workshops and events for 2012 at The Horse Place plus a few in other areas as well.
This year we have fewer structured clinics in favour of design your own clinics. If you have specific objectives and goals you want to achieve, that may not be covered by regular clinics, then design your own may be the way for you.
Design Your Own Clinic
Spend a few days at The Horse Place with a few friends or come along on your own. Lessons are £50 per hour for individuals, £65 per hour for two sharing or £75 per hour for three. Three or more students also have the option to book a full day workshop for £120 each. During your stay you can choose how many lessons to have on any topic of your choice within the Parelli Program. In between lessons you will be able to spend time with Alison and David, join our working students playing with their horses in the afternoons and just soak up the Savvy around the place. Livery £10/15 per night. Accommodation available at £30/35 per night.

Softness and Relaxation Clinic - 26th May
We would all like a soft and pliable horse who is relaxed and happy in his body and mind. Imagine how easy it would be to handle and train a horse with this disposition. In this one day workshop, David will set you on a path towards achieving this goal and then the sky is your limit.
Ground Driving with Purpose Clinic - 8th/9th/10th June
Over the three days of this clinic, David will take you through the progression from one rein driving in all zones to full harness driving and dragging. Each horse and student will progress at a pace appropriate for them as individuals. David has a few sets of harness so may be able to help out if you do not have a set yourself.
Playday at The Horse Place - 7th July Students are invited to join Alison and David from 10am-4pm for a Playday. The playfield will be open with obstacles and jumps to play with and Alison and David on hand for advice if you need it. They will be playing with their own horses during the day and can demonstrate how they have helped them to become more confident with obstacles. There is no charge to attend for the day but please book in advance as we may have to limit numbers.
Private Lessons - 8th July Private Lessons are always available at The Horse Place but this Sunday has been set aside for any students attending the Playday, who would like to stay over. The Physical Side - 11th/12th August
Not as bad as it sounds! Does your horse circle around you with his quarters closest to you or travel with an even soft bend in his body. Does he take corners like a motorbike or glide around then effortlessly. Do you even notice what he is doing. This two day clinic with Alison will help you to see what your horses body shape is telling you and give you tools to change this for the better
Western Weekend - 25th/26th/27th August
A three day clinic with David to develop your western talent. Learning roping skills, how to prepare your horse and get your freestyle riding solid to put them all together and be able to rope from horseback. We can't promise any real cows for you to rope but we will improvise. David will also cover western equipment and knot savvy.
