Come and join us for a fabulous two days of festivities over the weekend of the 7th and 8th July as The Sharpham Trust celebrates its 30th birthday. The Trust is based at Sharpham House, on the Sharpham Estate, Ashprington, near Totnes, Devon.
Thirty years ago, when Maurice and Ruth Ash set up the Trust they wanted it to become a place where people from all walks of life would come to cherish, reconnect and benefit from the unique natural environment of the Sharpham estate.
Their vision has been nurtured and expanded so now the charity’s rich and diverse activities engage individuals and communities by providing access to the beautiful estate and house, and by hosting meaningful programmes and courses to enrich lives.
The weekend is the highlight in the Trust’s year of celebrations. Its programme offers a ‘pick and mix’ of events, in which there are fun activities to suit all ages; entertaining group games, interesting garden tours, try outs of outdoor art and crafts, food foraging, trips to the retreat centre, poetry readings to listen to and join in with, walks, talks, house tours, and mindfulness.
Each day too you can swim in the outdoor pool, try canoeing, taste cheese and wine, watch an expert wood carver create a new outdoor sculpture, view a specially curated exhibition of over 35 paintings by the Polish painter Zdzislaw Ruszkowski, see work from local contemporary artists, listen to great live music while you munch on lunch and even take part in our own unique twist on the Olympic Games!
If you are feeling a little more reflective then you can add your stories, thoughts, about Sharpham that contribute towards an exciting immersive journey of the past, present and future of the Trust.
You might find that one day isn’t enough to experience it all so we have opened Sharpham House especially to cater for bed and breakfast guests at the great price of £45 per person per night.
